One of the most confusing aspects to SAP is the multiple levels of granularity used by SAP systems.
Landscapes, objects, transactions, tables, modules, and functions are all used. There is no simple solution to this multilayered granularity. SAP Systems were built over a period of 30 years, and as technology has developed, so has the vocabulary and constructs of SAP.
Employee activities are a core level on which procedures and processes are based. Business tasks must be opimised, for speed, simplicity and auditability.
Employee procedures must be documented and approved. Employee tasks must be internally consistent. Procedures will be optimised and minimised over time. Procedures must meet legal requirements, including audit, management and business reporting. Procedures must be built to meet environmental regulations, and optimally to make future business development as flawless as possible.
